In Roosevelt’s presidency, he exchanged many political ideas. He often challenged others’ ideas about limited government. Instead, he wanted government to achieve social and economic justice. He expressed this to lots of newspaper writers. He also exchanged ideas about individualism. Individualism is a political and social philosophy that emphasizes an individuals power. Several people thought Theodore Roosevelt was a great example of individualism. But in his 1904 election he made one of his biggest exchanges. He promised to hold back on parts of his agenda in exchange for a free hand in affairs. This exchange would help him go on to be elected as president. All of these exchanges helped him become one of the most successful presidents in American history.
